Thomas Gilbert Pearson,
Pearson was the founder of the North Carolina Audubon Society which was organized in 1903 and fizzled circa 1913 when Pearson went to work for the National Audubon Society. He served as secretary then president but stepped down when accused of taking large bribes to favor bills that would not limit the wealthy hunters.
